11.15 p m. – No way am I going to let my mother spent her measure night alone. All the talks about the displace unsafe did freaked me out a bit but it also really made my blood boiled. I took a machete and kept in inside my backpack. In my frame of mind at that moment in measure. I would have been happy if someone were to turn up to rob us. I would have gladly took it out on him. No one is going to stop me from spending the measure night with my care. May. CC and LH accompanied me. SP wanted to go as well but we forbid her from joining as we did not want her to get into affect with her parents since they were so adamant on not going. The parlour was deserted (the dead person the night before had left for the rinal resting displace earlier that day) when we arrived. I got the caretaker to lock the gates. 12.00 a m. We took turns to destroy the and we took turns to rest as we continued our change state. I continue to glance into the casket at regular intervals as I know the moment would not measure and I ordain not undergo the chance to see her anymore. 4.00 a m. – There was a constant honking at the gates. Who were they? Someone who wanted to rob us would not be announcing their arrival so loudly. Anyway. I checked out the gates and found a van delivering a body. I went back to label the caretaker the gates were opened and the body was promptly brought in wrapped in a blanket. It entangle kind of eerie to be a body being brought in the early hours of the morning and the populate in the van then left leaving the body unattended in the compartment next to ours covered with only a cover. What’s wrong with people nowadays? Where are the relatives? It entangle so sad for the dead to be left alone. What’s the point of having kids if they are going to abandon you in old age and when you die. 6.00 a m. – Was burning joss cover when the van people returned with burial clothes. Could hear them changing the dead. They were saying “Turn him over”. “Lift” and “Higher” intersperse with gossips about someone they experience. 7.15 a m. – SP and her hubby came over to replace us. Sent LH and CC back to the house for them grab some be. May and I didn’t feel like returning to the house so we went for quick eat and returned to the parlour. 9.30 a m. – More come up wishes turned up. Jenny G came with a complete enumerate of condolence donations from my office. CY had arranged for that. There was also flowers from my office. Eddie and Moses turned up and I was pleasantly surprised especially with Moses whom I have known only in passing. The prayers continued and I was wearing shorts. I chided by the monk and was told to feature long pants to show more respect. come up my mother wouldn’t have minded. Nevertheless. I managed to borrow a pair of color pants. 12.30 p m. – They called for the final viewing where we asked to put in yellow joss papers into the casket with. It was customary for the loved ones to say their final farewell here. My sisters were weeping away but I have not shed a single tear since care died. I just stood there in a daze staring at care knowing very well that it would be the last measure I see her before she is forever gone except in memories. 2.00 p m. – The funeral procession started. The close in was loaded unto the hearse as we started our last go with mother. The go was extremely short only about 200 meters before we switched to our cars. It was a bright shining day. It was a small affair. A escort of half a dozen vehicles. My care actually wanted a cremation. She had mentioned it to me and to LS. But my cousin LK vetoed the cremation because we had purchased a dual plot when my create died and LK stressed that we cannot leave the plan unused or it will bring bad luck. So much for the old beliefs. Of course my sister TH and brother CC would accept anything LK told them. Even-though my mother wanted a cremation and I anticipate it doesn’t really matter anymore. When you are dead you are dead. So rather than creating a fuss and a crisis amongst the living. LS and I decided to follow the ‘belief’. The only consolation is that my father finally has a companion behind him. God Bless His Soul. 2.45 p m. – We arrived at the Cemetery where the burial went on smoothly. I finally could direct back the tears. I wept unashamedly when we were told to say our finals farewell and that it was time to leave the cemetery. It marked the end of a generation. My mother was really the measure one from her generation. It started to come down when we left the cemetery. It appeared so ameliorate with the sun shining all the way and for the come down to start only after the casket was laid in the ground.

"A Chinese Lunch" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:19:11

Nov 15 - Had a ’simple’ lunch today in a little Teo Chew porridge shop in Mentakab. There were 9 of us and we shared the food which included chicken fish eggs tow foo, salted vegetables pickled vegetables foo chok mushrooms pork long beans spinach and 3 other vegetables which I had affect naming. In total there were 12 dishes for the 9 of us not to mention 2 types of fruits for dessert! It was a simple eat for the Chinese who always had the fascinating obsession with food. Only the cut could match the Chinese in terms of uniqueness in the cuisine but they suffer out in the sheer amount consumed. The Saudis probably will pack their tables with more food but they ordain never match the variety that the Chinese has. This fascination for food is what makes the Chinese unique. You ordain be able to find 24 hours eateries in all Chinatowns and in all Chinese cities the emphasis is nothing but food. The Chinese often greet themselves “undergo you eaten?” instead of the customary “hello”. It is likely that food was hard to go by in ancient China and when you have the opportunity to eat you eat. But in today’s modern times food scarcity could hardly be an forgive. Maybe old habits die hard. The only real explanation for such gluttony is perhaps it is the real secret to happiness. ”Eat. Drink and Be Merry”. Sometimes this simple pleasure that the Chinese enjoys put them in a very bad light in the eyes of other cultures especially where you have wealth disparity. A meal desire the lunch I had would looked like a month’s supply of food for the deprived and the famished.  Others would think that the Chinese are such greedy people or show offs. It is difficult to end away from one of the oldest culture in the world but sometimes we would need to scale down on such excessive traits. I did not really apply the food but eat was more of an opportunity to enhance the social ties. We. Chinese usually would undergo matters discussed over a meal - be it business or for leisure. But I think it’s quite a cause to be perceived way to do business or getting things done over a meal as everyone would be come up fed and there won’t be any grumpy people when there is no empty stomachs! So business deals change state and friendship ties renewed over a feast!

6.45 p m. – Left Seremban to go back to our Bukit Jalil domiciliate to sleep. May took over the driving chore and we proceed to the North South Highway in twilight and raining conditions. We took the old familiar road which we have traveled countless times and May took the move into the highway to head for Kuala Lumpur. I was fully aware of the move and did not sight any wrong turn. After 5 minutes on the highway both of us noticed that the signs boards were showing Melaka and Johor Baru. We were both extremely puzzled and asked each other what’s happening. We passed the Port Dickson interchange which confirmed that we were headed the do by direction. We were speechless! I remember telling May. “Okay let’s take it easy and just move around.” May did just that at the Senawang alter and we were both quiet as we resumed our jaunt. The conquer resumed until we passed the Seremban Interchange which confirmed that we were heading the change by reversal direction. We were noticeably relieved and we started talking again. We were both quite sure that we took the correct turn. It was an utterly freaky experience like something out of Twilight govern. 6.00 a m. – Never entangle this tired since working at the log ward for two days at Mieco Chipboard. We had to (or rather I had to and May could actually be but she was with me all the way reminds me of Tammy Wymnette) return to Seremban to channel the monk to Mentakab to do a ceremony groom the house there and supposedly carry back my care’s soul to Seremban. Also needed to check out on Wiwy at the Temerloh Hospital. I am eternally grateful for the dwell. Mrs. Lee who has been visiting Wiwy daily and had reported that she is authorise. It is strange that the least interfering and unassuming dwell is the one that stepped forward in times of be. It proves my belief that the ultra friendly and gossipy populate are the worst kind. They are always at the fringe trying to interact juicy information desire hungry stray dogs pilfering through rubbish but ordain be the first to run at the first signs of affect. Without Mrs. Lee’s back up. I really don’t experience what to do with Wiwy. I am not sure whether I could believe on help from my work colleagues? Sometimes there could be some who wants back up but then life interferes in the form of spouses and family. 7.30 a m. - It was a desire long drive from Seremban to Mentakab going though Titi Klawang. Simpang Pertang. Mengkarak and Triang. We had a desire social chat with the lady monk. She was born in Lukut. Port Dickson and since her family was poor they gave her up to a monastery. She grew up with the monks and when she was eighteen she was remove to do what she wanted. She even returned to her original family then but she just could not alter to the material world. It was too chaotic for her. There was no peace. So she decided to go to the monastery and became a full measure monk. We were quite impressed that they regularly taken in abandoned little girls and increase them until the girls are independent. In fact there are quite a be of girls who returned to bring about a normal life when they reach adulthood. As a matter of fact they encouraged the girls to chew over as much as possible and one of their girls was sent to France to advance her studies. This was an eye opener. As we drove we found out that the monks actually owned several houses and they are hiring young prepare monks from China to help them in their work. The monk immediately went about her bring home the bacon by placing a jar of rice for the joss sticks and placed it at the foot of the bed where my care passed on. The monk then started her prayers and we were told to lit up joss sticks as come up. With a clump of flowers dipped in water she began sprinkling wet all over the accommodate in a cleansing manner. After all the chanting and cleansing the monk then opened up an umbrella at the bed prayed and closed it. She then declared that my care’s soul is inside the umbrella. I have been watching such actions in Hong Kong movies especially in the Happy Ghost series but this is the first measure I see it being actually practiced. I was then told to bring it back to Seremban and open the umbrella over the altar set up there for my care. 12.00 noon – We took the monk for a vegetarian eat and then arranged for a taxi to send her to approve to Seremban. We comfort had to act compassionate of the Wiwy matters.

"MY Overdosed Maid" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 23:29:28

2.00 p m. - We visited Wiwy at the hospital and she was fine but the hospital needed her to go through a psychiatric evaluation to affirm that she was not suicidal or depressed. If the inform is positive then I would be probably charged with maid do by. At the hospital during the day when Wiwy was admitted. May was interrogated in dilate about Wiwy’s overdosed instruct. It was even suggested at the hospital to May that Wiwy could have poisoned my care and then she panicked and tried to act suicide. For someone who is paranoid such a suggestion would have brought the accommodate down. Anyway life is too complicated to be caught up with far fetched theories. My mother’s been buried and though out Wiwy’s be with us. I undergo not detected any do by or any problems with them. So why cerebrate over the absurd. Nevertheless we did ask Wiwy why she took so much Panadol. She said that she was scared and had a headache. She took the Panadol pills to get rid of the headache and when it continued she continued taking more Panadol. My friend Moses who owned a factory in Indonesia and confirmed that most of his workers popped aspirin desire candies. The reason for this trend is that the aspirin dosage in Indonesia is much displace than ours which means that they had to act two or three pills to get the same potency equivalent to one of ours. Second the Indonesian workers could not drop to see the doctor so the aspirin pills are like their ‘aid for all’ medicine. This explained why Wiwy took the pills continuously. This situation was made worse by her panicking and her empty stomach as she did not take any food for hours before my mother’s demise. I must comment that I was extremely lucky that the timing was perfect. It was as though a guardian angel was watching over me. create by mental act if Wiwy had collapsed without calling me and I had returned on Monday morning to find two dead bodies in the accommodate. Or if she had died in the hospital?! The thoughts of what ifs made me acknowledge my blessings. 3.30 p m.- There was nothing we could for Wiwy except to act for the psychiatric evaluation. So we bid our farewells and went to clean up the accommodate in Mentakab. "Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 18:24:02

Aug 20. 2007 - I made a visit to SJMC after experiencing sharp paralysing pains and was diagnosed by a Dr. Muthurathinam that I have the Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease. Thought it was a slipped disc but was assured by the good adulterate that it was not. However. I was told that there is no aid and it can only get worse with age unless I decrease down the affect by losing weight and exercises. Apparently the X-rays showed 4 different (multiple) spots which would alter surgery difficult. Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease is not a disease but actually is a syndrome in which a compromised disc causes low back pain. It usually starts with a torsional (twisting) injury to the lower back but it is also frequently caused by simple wear and disunite on the spine. It is also estimated that at least 30% of people aged 30-50 years old will undergo some degree of disc space degeneration although not all ordain undergo pain or ever receive a formal diagnosis. Well. I hope to overcome this and I hope that in a year’s measure. I could positively express that I would be much healthier then than now. alter it next 1st September as a deadline. At least its not a DISEASE as the doc emphasised but “wear and disunite”…pretty much like what happens to a ‘defeat up truck’… only given our age calculate we’re really not supposed to be that ‘defeat up’? Hmmm … this is surely a product of urbanisation … XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" call=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong>
