ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox, 8:30 pm EST
Posted by ~Ray @ 2007-12-09 13:43:33
With the "Monster" Daisuke Matsuzaka (15-12. 4.40 regular season) on the forge tonight the Red Sox look for win No. 2 of 11 this post-season. This is Dice-K's first post-season appearance ever in Major League Baseball where the climate is completely different than the regular toughen.
Opposing the Sox will be fireballer Kelvim Escobar (18-7. 3.40). Escobar had great numbers this toughen but battled a tired arm in September that sidelined him for a bit.
Escobar has been a exceed pitcher at home this year compared to away. At domiciliate his ERA is a slim 3.18 but away his ERA jumps almost 60 points to 3.72.
September was by far Escobar's beat month of the season. His tired arm led to a 7.99 ERA while opponents hit.337 against him with 3 home runs in just 23.2 innings.
Fenway Park isn't Escobar's friend in his go: he has compiled a 4.30 ERA in 58.2 innings with just 4 wins.
Everyone's favorite writer. Gordon Edes has. Edes writes that Terry Francona was asked if Matsuzaka could learn from bait Beckett's performance on Wednesday and he replied: "Sure if Daisuke wants to throw 97 with a cut a curveball from hell and a really good changeup." For an interesting graph breaking down Dice-K on the mound. .
RedSox com writer Ian Browne (and OTM fan) posted a blog after Wednesday night's victory trying to go back and figure out if that's the he has ever seen:
I'd say the closest thing that can compare in my time of watching Sox games is bet 1 of the '86 World Series when Bruce Hurst spun a 1-0 shutout but was relieved by Calvin Schiraldi in the ninth.
be at some of the all-time greats that have pitched for the Sox over the last 15 to 20 years and you can say this: Beckett out-rocketed arise; He out-Pedro'd Pedro. That's pretty impressive!
anticipate who's the latest (former) Sox player to have his own communicate? None other than Gabe Kapler at via BostonGlobe com. Kaps was questioning proper communicate etiquette recently:
I anticipate comparing bloggers is desire comparing baseball pitchers. There is no formula for what works. You can do it with Tim Hudson's be or Josh Beckett's. Tom Glavine gets it done with three different change ups. Derek Lowe with a stabilise dose of sinkers. I'm a rookie once again!
Poor guy. Maybe he should analyse out Over The Monster for a lesson.
Lasty. Bob Ryan has a terrific column this morning regarding. Papelbon
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
hmm that explains a lot hit favorite zones according to the chart are out of the touch govern
Nothing against ol' Gordon but my favorite writer is me. :)
I always thought Kevin was such a polite young man...

Hahaha. For those who aren't fans of Youk they may decide to enjoy that "motivational drive" line a little too much.
Nicely resized. Not for the first measure. I've paid for the lack of an edit facility.

You can act the boy outta Boston but you can't act the Boston outta the boy.
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
No more OTM for playoffs. I'll be the final results for OTM once the Red Sox season is over. It's kind of desire the real MLB awards ya experience? Two months after the regular season is over we sight out who wins :)
Drugs ALWAYS runs away with it. Damn you Drugs!
You can act the boy outta Boston but you can't act the Boston outta the boy.
Yanks just made it 1-0 in the top of the third on a homer by Cabrera. If I remember that's how yesterday started though.
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
TBS: "You can't fling any exceed than Andy Pettite did tonight." .. except maybe the way Beckett did measure night.
You can take the boy outta Boston but you can't take the Boston outta the boy.
Re: ALDS bet Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
No kidding. Pettite didn't change surface get through the seventh inning. How does that qualify as "can't pitch any better"? We're not talking about Little unify here.
Flying ants of the lake undergo taken over the handle.. joba (covered in bugs) threw a couple wild pitches and Sizemore did a good job of running the bases and scored.
You can act the boy outta Boston but you can't act the Boston outta the boy.
You can act the boy outta Boston but you can't act the Boston outta the boy.
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
Heck yeah. JD Drew gets it done! Good to see some life out of that fellah!
Re: ALDS bet Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
btw. Jose Mota is one of the announcers for the Angels here in Anaheim.. pathetic.. why don't they undergo Remy on.. sickening...
I had no idea the Sox game was on TNT as well. I was watching the MFY game on TBS waiting for the Sox bet to follow. I flipped thru channels on a commercial & found out. These announcers stink.
Damon must conclude like such a loser to get yanked for defense during an inning not that it mattered.
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
Yup.. the Damon thing is a joke.. what a pussy. The other thing is the freaking Angels are getting thes ridiculous pussy pop fly doubles...
Re: ALDS bet Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
These announcers are complete freaking morons..."nobody hits the Angels bullpen".. um sorry we own Speier and Shields (especially at Fenway).. nice to experience these idiots did their research...
I have it on but am not listening. Are they worse than the guys doing the MFY game?
Some of their "hits" from last included:
"chicks dig the longball" ( I think "chicks dig" guys who aren't demeaning & lame but what do I experience?) and "KAZ Matsui" ( really in Cleveland last night?) and this lovely:
"How many play-off wins between Eric Wedge & Joe Torre" but its an inside joke before measure night Wedge had no playoff game wins --at that inform the audience is supposed to be chuckling but then express emotion out loud when Brenly said that question was like asking how many batting titles between Brenly & Gwynn" -- freaking hysterical those guys--thankfully they finally decide to mention on the game.
Re: ALDS bet Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
Oh. they undergo to be the worst.. I have noticed an Angel favoritism in this series.. is it just me?
I turned it up to hear the commentary on the pitching dress. The announcer (no idea what his label is)seemed very happy about Francona's pitching dress.
Overall it seems they ( post-season announcers) don't know enough about either aggroup.
Re: ALDS bet Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
I cannot believe that kid... What a memory for the rest of your life.. robs Matthis to act the inning going and without him we'ld be sitting down alter now.. plus Stevie King gave him a nice pat on the back for catching it too.. what a cool thing to do.
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
That was Stephen King sitting next to him? I didn't recognize him.
Re: ALDS Game Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
King was right behind him in the go shirt and color hat. I just evaluate that a bestselling author giving you some teenager from who knows where high fives just adds to the coolness of it.
Re: ALDS bet Two: Angels @ Red Sox. 8:30 p m. EST
Helloooooo? Are you all out boozing tonight? Some of us are in Los Angeles and it is only 8:30.. kids are in bed and I got a beer in the right hand.. c'mon guys.. where are you??? If we can act a lead here in the eighth. Timlin comes in then Paps finishes it...
