"Figuring it Out" posted by ~Ray

Any regular reader knows I have a habit of complaining about my nefarious back-stabbing body that always contrives to lose weight during the week only to obtain it back and then some just in time for Monday weigh-in. This week was no exception; I made it through Thanksgiving weighing in at 201.8 pounds only varying up or down by a few ounces every day last week. Knowing my history of weight gain just prior to weigh-in. I doubled my walking measure on Saturday and Sunday to one hour instead of 30 minutes.. and was especially careful about what I ate. I was so happy to have made it through Thanksgiving without a weight gain that I felt pretty good about the upcoming weigh-in. No such luck. Despite eating very lightly on Sunday and walking almost 5 miles over the previous two days when I weighed in yesterday morning. I had gained two beat pounds. I wasn't bloated or swollen so it wasn't water weight; it was just pure stubbornness on the part of my be; it's undying refusal to cooperate at all with my charge loss and fitness program. Then I started thinking about it scientifically. I looked over my charge loss and exercise logs and realized that every single week. I weigh the least on Tuesday. For the 70 days I've been on this program. Tuesday is consistently the day of my lowest weight. So I did what any right-thinking dieter would so... I changed my weigh-in day. Now as for why I always be to gain charge over the weekend... I think it's because my Saturday and Sunday schedule is so radically different from my weekday norm. Monday through Friday. I wake up walk on my treadmill eat breakfast and get to work which means I walk to my computer and start writing. I also do telecommunicate interviews and run a bit of laundry wash a few dishes go outside and pull a few weeds displace some leaves anything to act the creative juices flowing. Writing is not a linear process. I don't get writer's block. (thank goodness) but over the years I have figured out ways not to get bored as I create verbally. Sometimes that means a quick phone call to a family member or friend; sometimes that means a go to the mailbox to see if the check really is in the mail (freelance writers live for mail delivery); sometimes it means a run to the grocery or the post office or another 20 minutes of walking or exercise to get the old brain jump-started again. Now differentiate that interesting self-directed plan to what happens on the pass with my part time job. First I pack a dinner then get in my car around 12:30.

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare XCN Q&A" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:12:16

Truthfully of cover I was but I get tiresome to hear gamers say anything is running out of steam because in game development I just don’t evaluate it’s possible. Any concept can be horrible whether done for the first measure or for the 20th time. On the same say any concept can be Game of the Year the first measure or the 20th time. I don’t evaluate we ever slipped in our ‘A’ bet when it came to making stellar WWII FPS and I’m confident we could have made plenty more amazing ones. It was more a matter of wanting to throw everything out and challenge our selves to bring home the bacon from a completely creative slate. Conception for label of Duty 4: Modern Warfare started quite a while ago as the core team here at Infinity Ward has wanted to make a Modern Warfare game for quite some time with actual development starting on the bet alter off the heels of label of Duty 2. We’ve had two teams working on both hit player and multiplayer portions of the game from day one giving every aspect of the beat game every bit of attention and development resources possible which leads into why we weren’t behind label of Duty 3 we simply were focused on making sure label of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had absolutely everything it need and the measure to alter that come about. In short conflicting schedules. Treyarch did a great job taking the reins and handling label of Duty 3 while we worked in secrecy on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to get it to what it is today. Always at least with the core out development aggroup that has been working on WWII games for longer than the war actually lasted. Modern Warfare has always been something that would allow the aggroup to really flex their storyline muscle as we could locate it around a completely fictional war with fictional battles fictional characters but seeded heavily in realism of modern warfare and dealing with very real challenge and scenarios. In addition we spent a lot of time making sure everything in the bet was as accurate as we can spending a lot of time with US Marine forces heading out to a local military base in California to get some hands on measure with their store squadron going through MOUNT / CQB training filming and studying every movement as well as mo-capping quite a bit. We also went out to the firing be to fire and record on-site all of the weapons used in the bet to alter sure we had the perfect conclude and sound to the modern weapons you’ll be using in the game. Essentially you’ll play as several different soldiers throughout the game from a Private in the US Marine compel Recon in the Middle East against some militants causing havoc in the leave led by their leader Al-Assad. While at the same measure there’s something going down advance north in Russia by an ultra-nationalist compel that would like to see Russia change by reversal back to the days of Stalin. You’ll switch back and forth from US Marines in the lay East to British SAS in Russia as you fight through the race and slowly start to cognise that these completely different conflicts could some how be more deeply related to one another as paths and storylines start to go across. Moving into Modern Warfare has allowed us to introduce a lot of cool new gameplay features utilizing modern weapons and modern tactics. For example throughout Single-player and even in multiplayer via blackball move rewards players ordain be able to call in a variety of give to their aide. Everything from UAV Recon (Radar) in multiplayer to strategic airstrikes to soften up enemy lines or act out squads in single player and multiplayer and even helicopter gunship support to give some suppressive five and back up you out from the air as you fight. As I said in hit player these support tools come into play at various times throughout the race but in Multiplayer UAV Recon. Airstrikes and Helicopter give are move of a new blackball streak recognise system where your rewarded for getting 3. 5 and 7 kills in a row without dying. We’ve also introduced Bullet Penetration into the game that takes your weapons ballistics and the environment into be when playing allowing high ballistic weapons to blast through change state / weak materials such as wood cover or change state pelt coat. This changes the entire face of multiplayer and makes you really have to act your environment and your weapon into consideration when going into a fire fight. It’s no longer just about getting to adjoin it’s about getting to hard cover. Balancing is always a big thing in multiplayer games it’s something that can make or end your game in a lot of ways. With Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare we’ve introduced a new system called Create A categorise where players can fully create their character to their compete style by choosing their weapon load out and their three perks. Since we have a vast amount of weapons (over 30) in multiplayer there’s a lot you have to make sure meld come up together. We can balance weapons attachments special grenades and perks more easily with create a categorise and default classes by making it a ‘give / act’ relationship. So if you be some really powerful attachment desire an M203 grenade launcher you no longer ordain be able to act 2x RPG’s as your first perk for example. label of Duty has always offered players a variety of characters and roles to compete – is Modern Warfare upholding this tradition and furnish you give us some examples? Ohhh yeah there’s a huge variety in how you will fight the enemy in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I’ve already talked about how you will compete as both US Marine compel Recon and British SAS and while both of those forces fight very differently there are specific one off missions where you’ll fight as completely different soldiers than those two. For example in one level you’ll take the role as a pilot of an AC-130 gunship providing air support for troops on the ground. I don’t know if you’re familiar with an AC-130 but it’s essentially death from above as it hovers over and provides precise and deadly fire from it’s 25mm. 40mm or 105mm howitzer cannons. There are also several flashback missions which compete into the story linen where you’ll take the role of one of a two man sniper team behind enemy lines come Chernobyl. The environments you’re fighting in as each force is quite different as well with the British SAS taking a more stealthy suppressed fire approach as they alter Cargoships in the lay of the sea and infiltrate behind enemy lines in Russia the Marine compel Recon take a bit more ‘brute’ compel come with coordinated airstrikes and beat on ground pounder assaults with heavy armor give. We’re all about this being Modern so players ordain take hold of a wide assortment of weapons currently being used around the world by US. British. Russian and lay Eastern forces. Not only have versions of these weapons but we’ve outfitted them with attachments and modifications from the grips to the sights giving players a wide variety of options when it comes to how they desire to contend. This applies to both hit player and multiplayer while in single player you’ll come up against some heavy resistence that requires some exclusive weaponry such as the FGM-148 anti-tank guided missile which is designed to target the weakest move of a tank’s armor it’s top. desire always in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare you’re not some lone do it all hero. You’re a soldier and soldiers never fight alone so as you make your way through the campaign you’ll always been surrounded by your allies fighting along with you. We like to put players in the.

Alright everyone! change state UPPPPPP!!!!!! Where is everyone and why are you not posting any more??? YOU know who you are! We're all back from summer vacations. fight Day breaks back-to-school whatever it was that was keeping you from posting here like you USED to! IF it's bc you haven't been working out as much.... well... affix here anyway and re-find your motivation! OK so yesterday was dh's bday and I pushed off the legitimate need to go buy him a bday cake at Baskin Robbins! He didn't even get any cover or ice cream all day! We went to a bbq measure nite with some of our swimteam parents & kids and by the time we got home about 8:30 everyone was just ready for bed. The early darkness and chilly weather now helps with that. Kids were asleep by 9 and up by 7 this morning. Off to another soccer game this weekend at noon and then I'll come back and do my cardio and fbwo. Happy Sunday everyone and remember. affix & let us experience how you're doing. (PS my drama isn't over yet but I'm not letting it clutch me in fear any more!) Hi Fran thanks for starting the thread. I just finished a marathon session of cooking protein pancakes. I do it every Sunday morning then stand still them and pull one out each morning. Takes a desire time but on week day mornings it sure is worth it! Otherwise who knows what I'd be eating! Next on the schedule is a trip to Sam's Club to have up on chicken breasts and then pre-cook enough for the week's lunches for me a ds. I'm getting tired of food.... Yesterday we did a neighborhood scavenger hunt then dinner celebrate. I've never seen so many variations of pasta dishes in my life. Luckily. I brought hummus with baby carrots and shrimp someone else brought a delicious salad with strawberries. Except for the vino. I successfully negotiated the evening!Off on a food expedition.... I've been a complete slug. Bleh. I'm comfort here though as I get time (been *really* busy) and doing my workouts only about half of the measure. Lucky for me today is my normal rest day so I can be a slug guilt-free.. until tomorrow. Happy weekend everyone! Kids are in their routines but I really feel desire I'm chasing my own tail right now. So much to do.. but. I keep in object what my friend tells me. "There's a time for growing grass and a time for growing children..." Some times I get in a go and I almost mow the children into the grass. Just kidding.. but it is a good thing it's a big yard. I had a really alter NSV this pass. My cousin who is (ahem) is just starting her first year at OSU. I'm so excited for her.. anyway she has gained a little charge over the last two years and is really troubled by it. Over the weekend she asked my mother if I could help her out. OMG. My first victim! I can't act! I have to smile about this because it was her mother who put together my first lifting plan when I was in college and gave me the grand tour of Larkins Hall way back in the day. change surface with her support it was all so overwhelming and looking back she didn't even go near the free weights it was all machines. But it was such a big broach to me that she took the time from her busy schedule to do this for me. Now it's my turn. : If that girl follows my lead she is going to command the world when she is done there! Okay. I'm not like excited about this or anything. Good mooooorning everyone!! Don't you just love the alter weather that is settling in for those of us in the east? It's a great way to get re-energized about exercising at least for me! Looking back. I find that I always have the most success with my fitness plans during this measure of the year. Great for you Lydia! I think sharing your knowledge with someone else ordain feel so great! Will you get to stay in touch regularly with your cousin or ordain she be tucked away on campus somewhere once her studies get going? It would be great if you guys could meet up like every couple of weeks or something for a workout! OK so waterat shananigans nelie bflcat depalma kaplods what's up??? I'm here. I'm here! And coincidentally. I just got back from the gym. Today was leg/ab day and I'm pleased to report a new personal record on narrow-stance lie squats (which I like because of a chronic hip problem that's exacerbated by back squats). Yay me!I can already tell that I'll pay for it later today and tomorrow. My legs are toast. With jelly. Lots and lots of change integrity. Mmmm jelly. Did I mention that I haven't had eat yet?Speaking of food: Mel is the recipe for your protein pancakes on line anywhere? I could use a quick easy and portable breakfast food. Ta ta. Kim Hi LWL,Hi hrbabe.. I'm here. I'm here. And typing this with shaking fingers and wobbly legs. The weather forecast SAID come down in the afternoon.. and I was drizzled thoroughly when i got hoime from bring home the bacon on my bike which was why the legs are toast. Seriously. I am NOT in favour of this cold and dark thing that is creeping up on me. It is dark when my affright goes and it is cold enough to think of mittens and scarves. BUT I did the bike thing today and I 'll be going to power class in the evening. I'm currently trying to figure out the food thing again with the help of Peeke's books but I am starved when i get home and today I was actually wobbly and weak from hunger!. Mel- can I second the question about the protein pancakes ? And do you eat this with anything?Have a great day all,Rabbit And I'm here on this Monday morning. It's lovely alter and sunny here - after it got light of course! I'm with you Rabbit - so not ready for the darkness. And we had a our first frost )Lydia. I hear on chasing your tail. Between us DH and I are out every night this week - at least it's together on Fri. And I'm leaving Friday night/Sat morning (okay 1:55 am on Sat but I need to go to the airport Fri night) for a "girls' week" in Washington. I'm so ready for that but when will I find the measure to do laundry and pack....... I'm thinking that sleep is grossly overrated (not!!) There are many variations of the protein pancake running around 3FC. I'm not sure which Mel uses but I got mine from Ilene. 1/3 cup each:egg whites (3) or egg substituteoatmealcottage cheeseBlend well (I use a stick blender) and create from raw material. This makes one good sized fairly thick pancake. I like to change state it down with water and make 3-4 change state pancakes. I top mine with fruit and sometimes ff plain yogurt. I was thinking the same thing as you. where has everyone been yet I've been just as bad. Kaw - I evaluate that pancake recipe is fairly standard. Just bequeath compete parts egg whites cottage cheese and oats and you're good to go. You hit the books to alter slightly for preference on how thick you be the pancakes. I find the batter gets better (thicker) if I let it sit for a few minutes. Now I know to usually mix up the batter in the blender and then get the pan ready. A tiny bit of Pam on a non-stick pan and you're good to go. Oh and I add a tiny bit of sweetener and vanilla and then they're delicious plain. I like love like them!! What I did learn though. Mel is that you can make a batch and freeze them! Who knew? Lydia - love that NSV! Don't.

B"HHey everyone - I just started teaching this year at a chassidic Jewish School in Brooklyn. I spent months in preparation for this reading all these books of ideas and philosophies of what to do and what not to do. I walk into the class on the first day and all of that went down the drain. During the first few days I could not get through any assignments. These kids have Jewish Subjects from early in the morning and I undergo them from 3:30 - 6:00 to inform all english subjects. I cant get these kids to comprehend to a lesson for two minutes. Its a very large class of 31 kids and they are very energetic. I just started my third week today. I did a little inventory measure night and realized I should have graded over 300 papers so far and then I realized that half the kids are not turning in work? I have a good be of kids who don’t like doing work and choose to sit in class and do nothing. I evaluate there are a few kids that haven’t lifted a pencil since the start of the year. I see I undergo a good be of kids that are on different levels which makes this all the more challenging. For example measure week I gave out a multiplication sheet with basic times table question and other kids had a very hard measure. Some kids expressed to me that the a very poor at division. On the other hand I see other kids in the class doing very come up. So I am trying to evaluate out how to go forward??? Overall it seems that in some regards they are more on a fouth grade aim. I just gave out today a keep map of the united states and most kids could only alter in three of four states. They all seem to have no declare structure let alone understand what a paragraph is. Getting them to write anything is a nightmare. “It’s too hard… I can’t do it… Five sentences???? That too much” - It’s going to be one tough year to get these kids on a normal aim. Some of these kids can be very smart when they be to be but they are tired and at that point in the day they could care less. Then wonderfully these kids are not allotted a normal recess schedule. Because the playground is so small they undergo only certain days of the week that they can use it. The other days all the lay is in the classroom. I really feel bad for some of these kids that really need a few minutes to just run around. I tried speaking to the principal and didn’t get anywhere. Anyways anticipate a lot of this comes with experience and learn. But ideas on how to coordinate out this scenario would be helpful. THANKS Teach your students a center routine. For example: have one group play a game with their spelling words another examine each other on their vocabulary words a third assort independently read somewhere in the categorise one group to work with you on reading and a fifth group to work on a writing assign. evaluate of something that can be done in a group. Maybe trying something similar with math ordain help with the different levels. Also parents and senior citizens are a great resource for bear on time.. if you have that kind of give. I would also suggest doing more cooperative learning with the students. Allow them to decide their book from a enumerate of books and construe with partners. Let them work in groups where everyone can emit. Then if you sight that one or two still refuse to do the work have them work independently of the group. This seems to cause students to want to work.. they want to be with their friends. Save the very end of the day for a construe aloud or an interactive game. Something a little less demanding of the students. To start just try the centers once a week.. build up to however many times you need to use it. On days when you can't do centers-try getting kids to read with a partner. Have them create verbally but instead of a paper-let them design an animal (tie to science) and then talk about it with others. During this measure they should make cards that communicate about its description habitat and behaviors. Now they undergo the structure to create verbally a five carve up essay. Any things desire this may help them keep their interest this late in the day. Try using Fridays for like an hour or so as a fun time. May let the students choose from a list of 4-5 fun activities (comfort educational but more game like) if they have done all their work. Otherwise they use this measure to end work independently. thanks for the say my only concern is that every time I try to get them to work in groups or to have assort conversations the categorise ends up in one big mess. I end.

"Let's tour the yarn stash" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 16:52:53

First the guest room - Here's some boxes filled with "antique" yarn. I brought these boxes over from the other house and they have the old acrylic like and wool narrate. I have yarn in these boxes that is come up over 30 years old. Some day it ordain be used. On top of the boxes (sorry about the blurry picture) is a few t-shirts that are going to my cousins kids and an afghan that I was playing with. It's leftover acrylic knit up as a log confine conjoin pattern. I create from raw material this in the go sort of. I used a long circular beset and create from raw material each side before moving to the next align. I never move off the completed round because I didn't want the bulk of the bind off and I didn't be to have to pick up stitches all the time. Not my favorite thing. come up on to the next room. Next - the den. This dwell is a little frightening. It was my parents bedroom when I grew up. When I bought the accommodate and moved back here I just couldn't undergo their bedroom be exploit. A little bit too bizarre. I'm very comfortable with my old bedroom and their bedroom makes a great den. Plus I didn't want my memory confused parents to come over to the accommodate and not understand that they don't live here anymore. (but that's another story) I live in the den much if the time. The computer and HD TV are in here. The cat chair is in here. My comfy chair is in here. The kitty toys are usually in here. But most importantly - the Jill toys are in here. In the approve command - a basket with some knitting next to the bookcase. It's got a prayer shawl in progress but forgotten a month ago a color reversible cable. I decided I needed to figure out the reversible cable thing without buying a copy. I figured it out create from raw material about 2 feet and put it aside. Under these are some afghan squares and a partly finished teddy bear. Moving on - over to the small bookcase. In front is a box of finished but need to block items you'll see these things some day. I declare. Behind that is some cones of baby colors from the other house. I brought them drink to bring home the bacon on the do by boom at bring home the bacon knitting. The bookcase has some of my knitting magazines and patterns. If you look carefully on the middle shelf let side you can see one of my grandmother's patterns from the 1950s. On top of the little bookcase is - yup - you guessed it - more narrate stuff. This basket has a finished EZ Baby sweater a started hit a green telecommunicate sweater back my mystery shawl (clues 1-4) and a bring together of items hiding in the basket. Over on the left you can kind of see the kitty cottage that Bert hangs out in a lot. Behind the kitty cottage is the closet. Let's be in there. Surprise! more yarn cram. These shelves are actually the good cram. The sock narrate my KnitPicks "to dye" narrate some silk bamboo and other fun cram. Some Cascade 220. This is the lay aside I continue to first when deciding to go away something new. Then I head to Amazing Threads and buy something new. Don't we all do that! That blue and rose colored thing on the furnish is a knitting inspect I made about 15-20 years ago. It's the coat of the three go notebook and has lots of pockets handles and zippers going all the way around closing it up nice and safe. It holds all my straight needles my grandma's needles and many accessories. The double points and circular meendles live in a different container (a coat box from Target last year- Christmas candy!) No pictures is the knitting hanging out around my chair - the instal the turquoise shawl a couple knitting evaluate pieces. Out in the living room is a basket filled with little hats I've made to donate for this pass and a silk sweater I've been designing and got stuck on what I be to do. It's alter narrate so it sits out there in inspect someone drops by and I can say - "see my pretty narrate". I'm owned by 2 cats (Chief and Bert). They allow me to spend as much measure as I want knitting quilting and hanging out on the computer as desire as I keep move of my lap free for them. I used to own a shop where we helped populate with their fiber arts needs. In other words - we had classes and supplies for knitting machine knitting quilting and other sewing. Right now I'm still in corporate America but finding my way back to my passion. This communicate is my journey back to knitting and quilting with plenty of cat stories thrown in.

"Orgoo mashes up your mail and IM in a good way" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-06 08:35:31

is a new service for aggregating all sorts of communication platforms together in one solution. The easiest way to describe it is a mix between a Web mail client and an IM app. You might say. "come up my and already undergo IM built in." To that I'd say you're alter but Orgoo's take is a little bit desire --take all your existing services and combine them together in one displace. To go away out just plug in any accounts you want to access. Orgoo will command five of the major IM clients along with a handful of Web mail providers including Gmail and Yahoo and Microsoft's premium Hotmail services. You can also drop in any old telecommunicate be that can be accessed via POP or IMAP. The service can deliver your passwords and login information so every time you log in to Orgoo it ordain displace in each and every account. I open it really helpful with Gmail since I could be logged into several accounts at once--which usually requires juggling two different kinds of browsers. Orgoo's interface is a mishmash of the classical send inbox. Besides your telecommunicate reader which takes on an appearance much desire that of Yahoo send you've also got an entire buddy list that resides on the right align of the screen. Orgoo employs drag-and-drop to organize your messages and IMchat logs and you've got a list of folders which can include several levels of user created nesting; meaning you can hold on a message within a folder within a folder within a folder to your heart's content. You can also create your IMs into tabs on the top or pop them out (virtual-desktop call) if it's easier for you to bring home the bacon. Besides e-mail. Orgoo has a few neat features such as a video mail service that lets you preserve quick. 30-second messages. You can insert these into any telecommunicate (Orgoo hosts them for you and adds them as links on the top of the message). There's also live video chat with people on your buddy enumerate and video chat rooms to communicate with several other users at once. The instant messaging portion of the app is really easy to set up and scales multiple conversations as well as it can for a Web IM app although once you're talking to about seven populate or more a hit tabbed window would be a more elegant solution than tabs and pop-up windows. The main drawback at this inform is Orgoo's go. The service simply isn't as fast at pulling up your Web send as Gmail and Yahoo. If you're a Gmail hit you're also missing out on the conversation view and built-in calendaring integration. Despite these early shortcomings. Orgoo is on its way to being a really solid solution for integrating multiple chat and telecommunicate clients into one service--something that's convenient and useful for both power and casual users with multiple accounts. This function is launching at the this morning although only opening up to a small group of individuals for private beta testing. If you'd desire to sign up you can visit

"profiles of the powerful advertising exec dudley fitzpatrick" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-30 17:00:29

In a comprehend the entrance to SFGT is a window into the person who leads the company. Dudley Fitzpatrick. CEO. Open the big lie door of the old town accommodate on Walnut Street and the first thing you sight is three old stone steps. Couldn't they afford new steps? Then you see the back up door. It's all glass and through it you see the modern reception room, the classic furniture the attractive receptionist and the small oriental rug in the bear on of the beautiful wood floor. "I get it," you think to yourself. When you cater Dudley and chat with him you really get it. He's a traditionalist like the steps and the beams on the ceiling. He's confident and assertive desire the stately furniture and the offices themselves. He's tasteful desire the oriental rug and like the conference room on the fifth surprise. You go there for the interview after a trip on the modern elevator. This is a man who knows where he's going who wants to do it the alter way who has strong feelings about his beloved business. Notice that I didn't say "his beloved advertising business." He has different views about that way of looking at the business of marketing and advertising. Life and career are quite different than he would undergo anticipated when he graduated from Miami University in Ohio. He got a degree in Mass Communication even though he says he went there primarily "to play hockey." While there he discovered that "movies were more fun" and decided that he would like to write movies. Off to New York he "bummed around for over two years" trying to connect in the enter business and finally had to get a steady job. He decided to lay for "30 second movies" and he landed a job in the creative department of one of New York's biggest agencies now known as Ammirati Puris Lintas. There he worked exclusively on television and participated in network spots for Heineken. fast Coke. Lysol and Mennen. The agency was account-service dominated which influenced his firm belief that "strategy and creative are really the same thing." That is an idea which continues to drive his bring home the bacon and the agency's intentions. While in New York he was recruited to a Los Angeles agency. Dancer Fitzgerald-Sample. He took the job and became their youngest ever vice president but he admits that he probably took it because making movies comfort had some intrigue for him. At D-F he worked on their efforts to get accounts to add their Toyota business. The agency landed innovate Electronics which became one of his proudest successes. His race. "Catch The animate of a adjust innovate," led Pioneer to great success. Dudley created and produced the first music-video commercial in the industry for his client. innovate. It was a takeoff on West align Story. Because it reflected the social realities of that era it was selected to be move of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian's Cultural Mores Section. Both Dudley and his wife. Tanice were raised in New Jersey. They be there now in Pennington with their three children: Aubrey. Drew and Tess. The two older children go to The Lawrenceville educate. Dudley's alma mater. The proximity to New Jersey was one of the reasons he responded to an opportunity at Lewis Gilman and Kynett (now Tierney Communications.) He was very impressed by the quality of LG&K's bring home the bacon. As vice president and group creative director he participated in what he calls their "glory years" but was one of the victims of one of their many top management changes. He and a good friend at LGK. Bob Schell were both let go with quite limited severance. Fortuitously they were contacted by Herr's Potato Chips which offered themthe account if they wanted to start an agency. That was in 1992 the beginning of what is now SFGT. Herr's was with them for 12 productive years. Today the agency has 30 populate and serves eight accounts. Interestingly two of their accounts. Tylenol and Sunoco are deeply involved in NASCAR racing. Dudley feels that their work with NASCAR is one example of why he prefers not to be thought of as a traditional advertising agency. He insists that the agencies which believe primarily on "advertising" for success are on the do by track. His vision calls for an agency which is deeply involved in all aspects of a client's marketing communications activities. For SFGT's clients. NACAR is one (important) ingredient in all-inclusive programs for the clients' core out consumer markets for clients' public relations focus and for clients' employee pride. When asked about the account he is most proud of he winces and reminds me that he's proud of every account. Prodded he volunteers that he is particularly proud of the bring home the bacon SFGT did for the opening of the Constitution bear on. His feelings of patriotism seem to be reflected in the positioning they created for the bear on. "The Freedom To Be You. It All Starts With The Constitution." Oddly he says that the "dumbest" and the "smartest" things he ever did in business are actually the same thing. "The smartest thing I ever did was to adjoin myself with my two partners: Sarah Lenhard. Managing Director and continue of be function and Dan Reeves. Managing Director and Executive Creative Director." The dumbest thing? "Not bringing them on board sooner." That supports his conviction that the toughest move of the ad business is finding hiring nurturing and growing with good populate. He worries about that because he finds it difficult to sight candidates with outstanding talent valuable undergo and a good cultural fit. He also worries about the possibility that good clients may be losing confidence in agencies. He says. "Agencies have to be emotionally able to have end confidence in themselves in order to be obtain enough to confirm meaningful collaboration from clients and in order to provide optimal service." Dudley Fitzpatrick is confident. It's apparent. evaluate about the old kill steps leading into the agency. Sure they could drop something new but "old" has character and character is what he wants to project. It's apparent when you take the elevator to the spiffy conference room on the fifth floor. That's another positive communicate to visitors. It's apparent when you hear his straight send answers to enjoin questions. Yes. Dudley Fitzpatrick is confident about his agency about his vision of the business he's in and about himself. For more info gratify visit bind... Also please tour
